Our
Guest House, set in the heart of the Rawsonville Winelands
area approx 45 minutes outside of Cape Town, has the most
breathtaking views of the mountains and vineyards. We offer
5 ensuite double rooms which have been beautifully decorated & styled.
Two are self catering & have
their own private kitchen. Relax by the pool or have dinner next
door at The Tin House Restaurant and Bar. Whatever you do, you’re
sure to enjoy the stay.
Come stay with us and discover the friendliness and hospitality of
the people in the area. The route meanders from Cape Town past Paarl
through the Huguenot tunnel into the Breede Valley, offering many
a scenic route from the N1 (102km from Cape Town).
A stay here will rejuvenate the soul for those seeking the serenity
of beautiful surroundings, genuine hospitality and good food!
A high number of wine cellars makes Rawsonville ideal for winetasting
without spending too much time in your car traveling from one cellar
to another. Year after year these wines are awarded championship
status on the young wine shows and the Veritas Awards. Cabernet Sauvignon,
Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Merlot, to
name a few. Many you will find on the wine lists of major international
airlines, hotels & restaurants.
For the outdoor activists there are a number of scenic cycling routes
that take you through vineyards and past cellars. Take a leisurely
drive through Du Toitskloof, Slanghoek Valley and Louwshoek. There
are also excellent hiking and horse trails, 4x4 routes and birdwatching
spots. Fishing enthusiasts can try our clear mountain streams and
dams for those big Trout, Black Bass and Carp. Test your endurance
with white-water rafting or enjoy canoeing, fynbos exploration, mountaineering
and quadbiking.
Rawsonville lies close to the beautiful winding Slanghoek Valley
and its rugged beauty and is fast becoming a draw card to visitors
for whom this gorgeous scenery, surrounding winelands, and family-run
cellars are rather appealing.
Rawsonville lies in a prime spot for exploring surrounding vineyards,
with 24 wine and cellars within a radius of 15km and as part of the
popular Route 62. Along its western flank runs the Klein Drakenstein
that winds its way through the Slanghoek Valley where various cellars
litter the R43 towards Ceres. On its eastern side, several wineries
line the banks of the Breede River, and the R60 to Robertson even
more so.
Other attractions and activities include Fairhills Craft Co-operative
and farm stalls. For those who want a touch of pampering, Sutherland
House offers and can arrange in-house beauty treatments. |
